Autumn is just around the corner, and with it comes the start of a new running season. If you feel like taking on a new distance or improving your personal best over 21 kilometres, the races to add to your sporting calendar are the Zurich Donostia-San Sebastián Half Marathon, the Palma Half Marathon Mallorca, the Valencia Trinidad Alfonso Zurich Half Marathon, the Behobia-San Sebastián (B/SS) and the Seville Half Marathon. Here’s everything you need to know!
San Sebastián Rural Kutxa Half Marathon (4 October)
On Sunday, 4 October, the San Sebastián Rural Kutxa Half Marathon will take place: a 21.097-kilometre race through the centre of San Sebastián. The route passes some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including the City Hall, the Kursaal, Miramar Palace and La Concha beach, among many others.
If, after taking on this challenge, you are considering running a marathon, it is worth knowing that the course is flat and officially certified, meaning your finishing time can be used to qualify for other races. Another reason to take part is the presence of pacers, who will set up to nine different target paces to help runners achieve their goals. Sign up for the San Sebastián Rural Kutxa Half Marathon!
Book your accommodation in San Sebastián and come and enjoy the race. At Intelier Hotels & Suites, we offer two elegant and sophisticated hotels: Hotel Intelier Victoria, located in the centre of San Sebastián, very close to La Concha beach, and Hotel Intelier Villa Katalina, also located in the historic centre, next to the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd.
Palma Half Marathon Mallorca (18 October)
On Sunday, 18 October, the Palma Half Marathon Mallorca will take place, following a route along Palma Bay, past the Cathedral and through the city’s historic centre. Entries are still available, but don’t leave it too late! Get your race entry for the half marathon before places run out.
If you have only recently started running and a half marathon feels like too much of a challenge, you can sign up for the 10-kilometre race instead. And if you are an experienced runner looking for an even more ambitious distance, the Palma Marathon Mallorca will also take place on the same day.
A good accommodation option in Mallorca for the race is Hotel Rosella by Intelier, located in Cala Millor, between the towns of Son Servera and Sant Llorenç des Cardassar. The rooms include a living area, bedroom and bathroom, and some also have a balcony. The hotel also features a swimming pool and buffet restaurant, as well as services for younger members of the family.

Behobia-San Sebastián (B/SS) (8 November)
On Sunday, 8 November, the Behobia-San Sebastián (B/SS) will take place, one of the country’s most iconic popular road races. Its appeal lies not only in its more than 100 years of history, but also in the huge number of participants who, year after year, snap up all 27,000 available race entries well before race day.
It is a demanding race that starts in the Behobia neighbourhood of Irún and finishes in the centre of San Sebastián. The 20-kilometre route includes 192 metres of positive elevation gain and two notable climbs: Gaintxurizketa at kilometre 7 and Alto de Miracruz at kilometre 16. The event is open to runners and skaters, and is also suitable for participants with reduced mobility using wheelchairs.
Entries for the Behobia-San Sebastián sell out very quickly. Check whether places are still available and secure your race entry.
The boutique hotels of Intelier Hotels & Suites in San Sebastián are an excellent accommodation option for the race, as they are located in the city centre, very close to the finish area. Take a look at Hotel Intelier Victoria and Hotel Intelier Villa Katalina and don’t miss one of the Basque Country’s most emblematic races.

Seville Half Marathon (29 November)
On Sunday, 29 November, the Seville Half Marathon will take place. This year, the race moves to a new date at the end of November in order to strengthen its international profile and adapt to the city’s updated running calendar.
The route takes runners past some of Seville’s most iconic monuments and landmarks and stands out for its especially fast course, with very little elevation gain and a limited number of turns. These two features make it a great opportunity for runners looking to improve their personal best.
Entries for the 2026 edition are already sold out, so if you already have your race entry or simply want to come and enjoy the atmosphere on the streets of Seville, it is also a great opportunity to discover the city over a weekend.
If you would like to stay in the historic centre of Seville, both Hotel Intelier Casa de Indias and Core Suites Sevilla Apartments enjoy a privileged location for exploring the main sights of the Andalusian capital on foot.
Lace up your running shoes and get ready to chase your best time!
