These are the 5 most beautiful beaches in the east of Mallorca

The island of Mallorca is a true beach paradise for any traveler. With more than three hundred beaches and coves along its coastline, in the east of the island you will find some of the best beaches on the island. Discover them!

Cala Agulla

At the eastern end of Mallorca, just outside the popular tourist resort of Cala Ratjada, is Cala Agulla, a cove with crystal-clear water, fine white sand, surrounded by mountains.

This spectacular dune and plant complex is part of the Llevant Peninsula Natural Park and was declared a Natural Area of Special Interest (ANEI) and a Site of Community Interest (LIC).

Its waters are shallow, so they are ideal for the little ones. On clear days, you can see the profile of the island of Menorca, and you can practice water sports such as kayaking, paddle surfing, snorkeling or sailing.

Cala Mesquida

Cala Mesquida is located in the northeast of Mallorca, about 7 kilometers from the town of Capdepera. It is a long beach, with white sand and crystal-clear waters.

It was declared a Natural Area of Special Interest (ANEI) and is protected due to its importance for bird life, housing one of the largest colonies of seagulls and cormorants in the Balearic archipelago.

It has become a quite popular beach with tourists, so we recommend arriving early. The depth of the water changes quite a bit, something to keep in mind if you go with children.

Cala Mondragó

About 10 kilometers from Santanyí, in the Mondragó Natural Park, is Cala Mondragó. This beach is characterized by its white sand, cliffs, typically Mediterranean vegetation and Posidonia oceanica meadows.

It is a protected area from the area of building and mass tourism, where migratory birds of numerous species, butterflies and wildflowers converge. The seabed slopes slowly, making it perfect for families with children.

Cala S’Amarador

Very close to Cala Mondragó is also Cala S’Amarador, a cove with crystal-clear waters with a sandy area surrounded by pine forests. There is a torrent that flows onto the beach and creates a pond in the shape of a small lagoon.

Entry into the water is very progressive, making it ideal for the little ones to bathe calmly.

Being located in the Mondragó Natural Park, it is a Natural Area of Special Interest (ANEI) and is part of the Natura 2000 Network as a Special Protection Area for Birds (SPA) and a Site of Community Interest (SCI).

Caló des Màrmols

Caló des Màrmols, in the southwest of the island, is located away from the most touristic places on the island; in fact, it is one of the few completely virgin coves left in the east of Mallorca.

It is a small beach with white sand and crystal-clear waters surrounded by limestone cliffs, so it can only be accessed on foot or across the sea with a boat. It is an extremely quiet cove, considered by many locals to be one of the best beaches on the island.
